About PNACO
The Organization
The Philippine Nurses Association of Colorado is a non-profit organization of nursing professionals of Filipino descent dedicated to the medical community of the Rocky Mountain region under the umbrella of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA).
For the past six years it has taken pride in involving itself in various community activities. One of the major community services is the Colorado Alliance for Health Equity and Practice health fairs (CAHEP, f.k.a. Colorado Asian Health Education and Promotion), a non-profit organization committed to reducing health disparities in the Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) population in Colorado by providing an inclusive framework of community organizations sharing good practices in health care. PNACO has been a co-sponsor in its annual health fair geared towards helping the Filipino community in the Denver metropolitan area.
Another major community project is the Susan G. Komen Multicultural Conference on Breast Health, a free one-day conference targeting minority women who lack access to life-saving information about breast health and breast cancer. PNACO continues to be an active participant in this project.
